Description
This is the house and location where Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was discovered hiding inside of the boat in the backyard. At the time the home and dry docked boat was owned by David Henneberry.
In an interview with the “Today” show, family representative Robert Duffy recounted an unusual discovery by Henneberry, his stepfather, in the 20-foot boat stored in his backyard for the winter.
Duffy explained that after the lift of a local stay-at-home order, his mother and Henneberry went outside for some fresh air. That’s when Henneberry spotted something odd about his boat: the tarp covering it was oddly flapping. Upon investigating, he realized one of the tarp’s securing straps had been deliberately cut, not simply worn or loosened. “It was clearly cut,” Duffy emphasized to “Today.”
Henneberry used a step ladder to peer inside the boat, where he noticed a trace of blood, signaling that something was amiss. He wisely chose to retreat and promptly called the authorities.
The incident has since become part of “history,” and the boat itself may be on its way to becoming a legendary piece of American folklore, potentially marking its symbolic retirement.
