Description
The Intersections of West 25th and Lorain Ave., Cleveland, OH. This is the location where Cleveland mafia kingpin Shondor Birns was a victim of a car bomb supposedly arranged by Irish Danny Greene, his rival for control of the Cleveland mob. On March 29, 1975 he was exiting Christy’s bar (a strip joint) and leaving, his car was blown up by an extremely powerful bomb which blew Shondor Birn’s body apart. His torso went through the roof of the car and his upper half was lying next to the car. Parishioners were also exiting the Hold Saturday service mass at ST. Malachi’s Church next to the parking lot. It was said there were bits of his flesh hanging from the fence.
The parking lot is rumored to be haunted by Shondor’s ghost however there are apartments in the location today.
There are lots of great YouTube videos that go into more detail about the story too!
