Description
In 1996, some bizarre UFO phenomena took place in Varginha, a city in Brazil, where many locals claimed to have seen two alien creatures, captured by the Brazilian military. On January 20, 1996, North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) transmitted accurate radar data on a flying object south of Minas Gerais to its colleagues at Brazil’s CINDACTA aerial surveillance center. Stories in the town, local residents, local media and national media claimed that one or more extraterrestrial beings were later captured by the Brazilian military.
According to media reports, an alien was first spotted by three young girls ranging from 14 to 22 years old. They were sisters Liliane and ValquÃria Fátima Silva, and their friend Kátia Andrade Xavier. They allegedly saw the alien in the afternoon of January 20, 1996: A biped about 1.6 meters (5 ft), with a large head and very thin body, with V-shaped feet, brown skin, and large red eyes. It seemed to be wobbly or unsteady, and the girls assumed it was injured or sick. The girls and other eyewitnesses made strong claims of an odor surrounding the creature that was like ammonia and/or sulfur. When one of the girls made eye contact with the alien, she felt that it was as scared of them as the girls were of it. Behavior one could expect if you were non-human travelers from another world, planet or time and that just survived a crash of your vehicle.
Many consider this event as Brazil’s Roswell. James Fox produced a very compelling documentary titled “Moment of Contact”. That documentary travels to the location of the crash which was on a farm and into the town of Varginha where two extraterrestrials were captured. There are numerous eyewitness accounts, credible interviews of military that were present and even the story ending with entire crash, wreckage and alien bodies leaving on a United States Air Force plane.
What makes this story so interesting is that it’s somewhat recent, has amazing eyewitness accounts and what some would consider an amateur sloppy cleanup. That said, it’s not fair to blame Brazil for lacking experience in the UFO coverup business. In fact, those of us that are interested in this topic are lucky this information even got out there. Varginha makes our top 5 list providing clear information to prove we aren’t alone. The Rendlesham Forest Incident is another like this because not only does it have living eyewitnesses but they’re also US military.
Those researching Varginha will find eyewitness accounts from town locals, military on scene, medical professionals at the hospital one of both of the beings were taken to and much more!
