The Ohio State Reformatory also known as the Mansfield Reformatory is as famous as it gets. When we listed this location we didn’t know if it should go into Hauntings, Film Locations or Buildings? If you have seen Shawshank Redemption which should be required reading at this point, then you have seen the Ohio State Reformatory.

It was the iconic Shawshank Prison in the movie and where much of the prison scenes were filmed. In present day it’s also known as one of the most haunted locations in all of Ohio.
