The corner of Rector and West Side highway is where the American Airlines Flight 11 landing gear wheel was found. After American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into floors 93 to 99 of the North Tower (1 WTC) at 8:46 a.m, the landing gear excited the building landing on Rector street corner right next to the sidewalk. It was laying right next to the sidewalk where people would cross Rector Street in the crosswalk.
