First time I was here I heard ghost train sounds just like in Ghostbusters 2. Only thing missing was someone saying there has been trains running here for decades. Paranormal is an understatement for this place!
Bill these are great questions! I’m not sure anyone has the answers to at this time. I’ve always been fascinated with this story. I actually wanted to connect with some insiders in the Minerva area to hear there thoughts.
Please share your opinions on the story. I’d love to hear!
That is absolutely terrifying. I imagine your dad saw some very interesting things in his line of work. We’d love to hear more stories if you got them. Why would so many people go into the creek with their cars? Is there something about the road that makes people wreck into the creek?
Well said Will! The more we go forward the more I realize there will NEVER be another JT. Thats awesome that he wrote you and that you kept that letter.
This place is still standing. I actually think it’s dam near exactly the same it was back in May of 1960. You can easily visit and get the feeling Sandy had driving up the hill and what he saw walking to the front porch. It’s also easy to imagine where the gun man or men were. Awesome to see in person!
I don’t care what people say about Jim Traficant. I’ve met him a few times and larger than life doesn’t even justify it. He made you feel special, valued and you were wowed with his celebrity. He was cool, big and truly a legend. Some say he put on a show I think he was smart enough to know Youngstown is left behind. He created attention and that attention got things done here. We’ve had politicians here for decades that have done absolutely nothing for the area. Jimbo was a once in a lifetime type person and somehow I feel even his opposition knew that too. If you were lucky enough to know him or meet him then you know. If you only know him from posts like this and video, believe me it doesn’t hold a candle to the real person!
Some people refer to the Stonebridge subdivision as the Bel-Air of Canfield, OH. I find that very funny because the majority of it’s residents don’t even realize the history. I’ve been to the neighborhood and it really is posh. Rolling hills, beautiful trees, huge homes and bodies. No one thinks about these bodies but they are buried in the neighborhood which used to the be property/location of the Mahoning County Infirmary. All kidding aside, I have many friends that live there and it truly is a beautiful subdivision anyone would want to live. I’ve also never heard of any ghost encounters, so the spirits at least seem to be content. Still……
You’re no old gal lol! Just a young lady with great taste! I also just found Baywatch back again on some weird channels.
Do you still have it!?
Wow! Is your mother still alive? I bet she had some interesting stories
